Verified Giving Infrastructure
End-to-end donation flows with masjid identity checks, receipt routing, and settlement windows tuned for Canadian banking.
Alberta Verified Financial Exchange
AVFE connects donors with verified masjids across Canada through secure, riba-free infrastructure—Interac e-Transfer native payments, debit only, transparent fees, and an immutable audit trail with integrity you can verify when auditors need disclosure. Built in Edmonton on Canadian-hosted infrastructure under our direct control, not public cloud.
Who we are
Alberta Verified Financial Exchange (AVFE) is a Canadian financial technology company headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta. We operate payment and verification services grounded in ethical Islamic finance principles—no riba, no credit products—while welcoming every Canadian who wants transparent, compliant charitable giving.
Canadian-hosted secure infrastructure keeps sensitive flows under our direct control. We pair modern automation with human oversight so masjid administrators can focus on community, not reconciliation.
Our four laws
No interest-bearing instruments or lending layers in our payment stack.
Debit and Interac e-Transfer only—halal-by-design rails for donations.
A simple 1% per transaction, fully disclosed before confirmation. Every cent of that is reinvested into maintaining and improving this service.
Immutable audit trail—not a public ledger—with auditor-on-request disclosure.
Our services
From verification to payout, every module is engineered for Canadian compliance, community confidence, and operational calm.
End-to-end donation flows with masjid identity checks, receipt routing, and settlement windows tuned for Canadian banking.
Native Interac e-Transfer orchestration—no card networks, no revolving credit—so funds move on rails Canadians already trust.
Charitable receipt templates and data fields aligned with Canada Revenue Agency expectations, ready for your finance team and auditors.
Five independent verification gates—governance, banking, charity status, leadership attestation, and ongoing monitoring—before a masjid goes live.
Scheduled disbursements to verified institutional accounts with notifications, reconciliation files, and exception queues your treasurer can audit.
Continuous transaction monitoring, OSFI-aligned sanctions screening, and tiered KYC that scales from small communities to multi-location organizations.
Trust & compliance
AVFE is registered as a money services business with FINTRAC and maintains policies, procedures, and record-keeping that stand up to regulatory review. We do not publish a public blockchain; instead, we maintain a private, append-only audit trail whose integrity can be demonstrated to qualified auditors when disclosure is appropriate.
Sanctions and watch-list screening follow Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) guidance. Know-your-customer processes are tiered so large institutions receive enhanced due diligence while smaller masjids are not buried in paperwork.
CRA receipts: Our receipting workflows are designed for registered charity compliance. Institutions remain responsible for their filings; AVFE supplies the structured data and controls to support them.

What leaders say
Masjid boards and community partners use AVFE when clarity, compliance, and confidence cannot be optional.
“We finally have a single place for Interac donations, CRA-ready receipts, and weekly payouts. Our treasurer sleeps better knowing every dollar is logged on an immutable trail.”
“The five-gate verification was thorough but respectful. AVFE’s team understood charity law and our need to avoid riba and credit products entirely.”
“Knowing payouts run on Canadian infrastructure—not anonymous cloud regions—matters to our donors. AVFE speaks compliance in plain language.”
